LORD GANESHA’s BIRTH CELEBRATIONS

Connecting to our Higher-self is the most blissful state of being for anyone. It is the prime connection every soul attempts to develop in order to achieve true oneness with themselves and God. It is this connection which is the key to understanding who we are, what is our true purpose and how we can make magical things happen in our life.

Honouring Lord Ganesha brings to us the beautiful opportunity to connect to our own higher and true frequency through the connection to the energies of Lord Ganesha.

LORD GANESHA

Lord Ganesha is a divine energy in the Hindu mythology that represents our Higher-Self. This son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati is popular as the God of Intellect, Wisdom and Prosperity. He is said to vanquish all troubles and remove all obstacles for his ardent devotees.

In the Hindu mythology, Lord Ganesha is the elephant-headed, pot-bellied, broken-tusked Divine Being who travels on a mouse. Each peculiarity of Lord Ganesha has a spiritual significance that can show us how to bring ourselves to live at a ‘Higher’ level of our lives.

To know Lord Ganesha is to understand our truest inner being and release ourselves from the limitations of our ego self.

Lord Ganesh is considered a symbol of wisdom, writing, travel, commerce and good fortune. Gajanana, Gajadanta, and Vighnaharta are few popular names of Lord Ganesha among his 108 other titles.

GANESH CHATURTHI

The Birthday of Lord Ganesha is celebrated as the festival of “Ganesha Chaturthi”. It falls in the Bhadrapada month of the Hindu calendar, which falls in August-September. Traditionally, this festive celebration is a 10 day long event of pomp and show starting from the day of “Ganesh Chaturthi” and culminating with the event of “Ganesh Visarjan“.

Ganesh Chaturthi is a day when spiritual aspirants honour Lord Ganesha and pray to His divine energies for inner spiritual strength. It is a blessed opportunity to remember Lord Ganesha and learn how to connect to the divine presence inside us.

HONOURING LORD GANESHA

Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is a time when devotees bring home mud-made idols of Lord Ganesh to worship the deity, eat good food, enjoy with friends and family, and in the end, immerse the idols the river or sea 10 days later, on the day of Ganesh Visarjan. Additionally, temples offer prayers and distribute sweets such as modaks known as Lord Ganesh’s favourite.

Devotees honour Lord Ganesha with complete devotion, gratitude and faith that all their obstacles will be removed and a path paved for their connection to their true intellect called Higher-self. With Lord Ganesha’s blessing ardent devotees experience eternal peace and joy when they are able to Open the Light Within themselves
