The Two Types of Gurus
In the modern world, there are many uses of the word “Guru“.
In the spiritual context, there are two main types of gurus:
- Ascending Guru
- Descending Guru
Let’s first talk about the Ascending Guru.
For ascending gurus there are two main categories. The first are the selfless givers who want to share themselves and what they have achieved with the world.
- They have to work step-by-step to achieve some understanding of enlightenment, through effort and perseverance. They are willing to work hard to understand themselves and to share themselves with other people through the same systems they followed.
- This category of gurus are kind-hearted, caring, patient, focused on the development of their students rather than the commercial value of their classes.
- You can find them around the world in all categories at various stages from teaching the really young up to the adults. The amount of work they’ve put in themselves they are willing to put into others to assist them to grow.
- They can also be found as regular school teachers as they’re still in the process of gaining that enlightenment. They are willing to care and willing to give, rather than focusing on their earnings and their finances, their focus is on assisting the people to find themselves.
Then there is a second category under Ascending Gurus, they come from their ego.
- It’s made of people who see this as a pathway to fame and fortune and subsequently have declared themselves as Gurus.
- They are very good at reciting the written word but get stuck when their students ask them random questions.
- These Gurus also prefer to follow a structured pathway to impress the people with all their spiritual knowledge gained from various religious scriptures.
- They take the route of praises and stroking the ego to collect a large following for themselves community-wise, country-wise or internationally.
Then there are Descending Gurus.
- There is only one category here as these are very rare and very hard to find. These are like the hidden precious gems in the depth of society, never very willing to reveal themselves.
- A Descending Guru is born complete, self-realized, enlightened. They are a representative of God. Their purpose is to share their wisdom and knowledge with the people who are willing to learn.
- A True Descending Guru is a true transmission of light energy. A descending guru is the conduit that assists you to start liberating yourself from your limitations from lifetimes of slavery to your ego selves.
- Their realizations come spontaneously, completely, and without backup of any religious scriptures. They can answer any question you may have at any time. The realization just flows through them.
- Their very presence carries the vibration that assists you to understand yourself spontaneously. They reflect the part of you that is already free, but hidden under habits, patterns and self-deception.
- To be in their presence alone you can start recognizing how many limitations you have placed upon yourself. You can start to understand the difference between truth and illusion. They’re selfless and give abundantly and are willing to invest themselves into people who are willing to become conduits of light and follow the journey of selflessness to share with the world God’s beautiful gift of love, light, and unconditional compassion.
- A True Guru works with the soul rather than pacifying the ego’s demands. No praise is given without a very just cause. They work with the truth alone and do not follow social norms. They look like normal people.
- It might take you a very long time to understand their truth. This is the hardest category of Gurus to find.
What we are pointing out here is the two categories of Gurus as we have understood them.
We share these differences so you can understand which Guru you would like to study with.
Ask Yourself:
- What are you looking for in life?
- Where does your money naturally flow to?
- What is it you want to become in this lifetime?
- Where do you see yourself in this lifetime?
- Where would you want to be in this lifetime?
We have many interesting stories we would love to share with you all and we are looking forward to sharing them. We’re working on our next letter we’ll keep you in the loop.
We leave you with these questions and mind twisters. If you have answers, share them with us.
